One of my customers just gave me a 4x8 sign that was left there from their previous tenants. I was wanting to put it on the side of a busy road and was trying to come up with a good way to design it. Any suggestions, or does someone have a software program where you could help me design one?

My logo is my avatar, and I'm wanting to advertise carpet cleaning. I was thinking about adding some bubbles under or around my wand, and my phone number 706-491-7530. I'm thinking about leaving the area code off of it, due to the fact that it's local and the majority of the people will know the area code. My business name is long, currahee cleaning services, so I'm thinking about leaving it off and just putting carpet cleaning or something similar to catch the eye.

Always have your business name. A passerby usually can't remember a phone number, but they can remember a business name and or website.

If you don't have Photoshop, try using www.picmonkey.com to whip up your own design.
Of course you could always contact Phillip Newell at www.SignAmigo.com and have a mind blowing design for just a few bucks.

    Hi Matt,

How are you planning on painting the sign?

It's already white. It just has the old stickers on it, and I'm gonna see how it looks after I pull them off. If it looks like crap after I pull them off, I'll probably just put some kind of white spray paint on it to cover it up before I put my stickers on it.

Why not do a vinyl wrap?

That's not a bad idea. It'll probably cost a little more, but it will certainly look better

It'll cost a few bucks but you'll be so proud of the outcome. Get Phillip Newell with www.SignAmigo.com to do the design.
You'll get a lot out of it if you spend the few extra bucks.

Hey Dr Carpet, I haven't done anything to it yet. I'm still finding a place to put it. Whenever I get ready to put it somewhere, I'll redo it then. I'll update you soon I hope

Matt, how are you planning on applying the graphic to the sign? What format is the original image you'll be using? I agree with Fencerider's take on including your business name. How about making "Currahee" really large, as that's the most unique part of the name and probably easiest to search, while making the "Cleaning Services" text smaller and secondary to everything else?

I like to help with graphic design-related stuff (not for profit, for fun), so if you want a large, vector version of your graphic or a suggestion on how to place all your content on the sign, just let me know.

First of all, are you taking the sign to a print shop? If so, what size will the new graphic need to be?
