If you had a very detailed and targeted list of businesses in your immediate area, how would you reach out to them?

Im starting with a tight list of 100 Dr Offices in a 10 mile radius.

Im thinking this for points of contact:

    1. Sales Letter
    2. Phone call
    3. Second letter
    4. In person pitch and demo offer
    5. third letter.

    What do you think?

What information does your list include? Does it include Decision makers name, title, phone Number, Business address? Or is it. a List of Dr's offices with the name of the doctor?

Unless you created the list yourself, you are better off calling first to confirm that you are truly targeting the Decision maker. In my experience if it is just the name of the Dr's you are spinning your wheels. 90% of the time. The Dr, A) wont take your call because he is bzy and important. B) has no idea what needs to be cleaned who they use or what the purpose is. And c) doesnt want to talk to other human beings that arnt paying him money to talk to him.

In the Dr's office the DM is usually the Office Manager.

Any time I have a list to call from that is specialized into one field. (and I actually use it to call people) I will use the first 100 numbers to call and Determine what the title of the DM usually is. And then once talking to the DM what their needs are. Similar fields have similar problems and you may think you know what their problems are but quite often you will get surprised by what their actual expectations are.

Once you make those first 100 calls it seriously simplifies how you will market to that specific industry.

But you can get way more knowledge by actually calling an asking then sending letters and hoping. You can also dial way more numbers then you could ever drive around and drop by".

I hope this thread blossoms. I'd like to find a new idea or two to break into the commercial end of things.

Been doing the LinkedIn thing for about 6 months now and its paying off. I've set up most of my meetings with building engineers, PM's, and Realtors thru it. Not necessarily exactly like kipps strategy but very similar. Its the easiest way to get contacts email addresses and they get to check out your profile and see what you can offer or see who else you're connected to or that their friend has endorsed you. Good luck with it Torrey, anxious to hear how you go about it.
