Wouldn't be the first time. Doubt it'll be the last either.

Perhaps you could tell the customer that the marble may need to be polished after you remove the rust. You could polish it for an additional cost.

Good luck! Spray nice and even... several mist sprays are better than one overwhelming coat. Do 3-4 applications without letting the product dry, allowing a couple mins inbetween coats then rinse off. Repeat if necessary. Call or text me if you need me 760-774-5306

Okay guys, I went and did a demonstration on the rusted marble and here's what I was dealing with.

After 4 applications of F9, this is how it came out. Notice the concrete also lost most of the rust as well.

Looks like it is an outside job. Dumb place for Marble, IMO.

4oz of tide, 1oz muriatic acid, and a wedge of lemon per gallon of water scrubbed with sand.

that is how my hack buddy rolls

I agree. This building is all marble. The floors, the walls, sink counter tops, everything. Right now I'm doing the rust areas around the poles outside, As well as two sink counter tops.

I used F9 rust remover. Mixed it 50/50 sprayed it on the rust areas then wiped it off after a few minutes. I did this about 4 or 5 times. It took all the rust away except for the area where the metal pole meets the marble. I presume it's because the rust is coming up/through the marble from the sides or bottom of the marble.

Afterwards I did a little diamond polishing to blend it in with the surrounding marble. Fortunately the other marble is pretty trashed so I didn't have to do much polishing.

I go back Monday to do the other 12 poles with rust. I'm sure my process will evolve some what as I go along.
