I found some really useful tools for email marketing. You can split test emails in their subject lines to track which ones have better open rates and click through rates.
So the idea is I could buy a large email list and start testing to see what kind of marketing headlines work and convert.

I'd rather test on random emails then to my past clients right now.

Where have you bought email lists that are targeted to your service area?

As I do this ill report back on my results also.

Good topic Torrey! It beats the cost of a stamp. I wonder where to purchase addresses in your area. My only concern is those people who do not recognize your e-address will not open it. So with that being said I would have an e-address they would recognize.

Absolutely, the open rates will be far far less than a past client list.

But thats were the testing comes into play.

Heres a exercise for ya, go into your spam folder and if its anything like mine theres about 200 new junk emails a day in there. Read the subject lines and see which ones that compel you to open them. You may be surprised, because many you know are junk sales spam but have such hot button subject lines that you just HAVE TO OPEN it! lol

I've been a list broker for more then a decade now. email, mail, phone, etc...

In my experience i wouldn't do an email campaign without support. So if you plan on targeting X carrier route with direct mail then hit that same carrier route with email 2 weeks after mail drop. If possible also have a letter/wrap van and internet presence in same area.

Call it the small ball matrix.... including me or any cleaner less then $1 million in sales
We need to hit prospects more then 1 angle.

IMO would want 2-3 ways to influence people in each target area, if not more.

Email is pretty weak by itself, pretty much the bottom of the list but set up with 2 other campaigns can provide a boost.

That makes sense. Also like all things "less pain less gain" and a email list and email is very easy with little time and effort, so i would anticipate what your saying, a much lower response rate and weaker traction.

Is there lists availible that would provide all of these elements for a prospect:
    Name
    Address
    Email

PS. Your a list broker!? How have I never heard this before?

Because i won't let my investments be judged on the whims of forum owners....
As you know these guys tend to change their minds!

This stuff is fun and all but no sane person is going to invest $10's of thousands of dollars on this and have a screen name destroy it in 2 minutes.

Shane, You're an enigma. I don't know if it's because I'm an idiot or what. But for a person like myself, who has always gotten by, by figuring people out real fast. I still cant figure you out after 2 years. Go figure!

That's not happening here. We have decided to keep that kind of culture out.

I think that's cool that you have or do that. Id like to learn more about it.

Son does the lists exist that include name, address and email?

Not the company i use, for privacy reasons they keep email separate for homeowners. To be honest i always use carrier routes anyway for residential, individual households is not for me.

Some ideas how to structure a campaign
. Be specific, dont say area rug cleaning, instead pet odors from oriental rugs. or whatever
. First paragraph introduce yourself and tell them why you are contacting them, see if you can add something to sound familiar. Like your angie reviews.
. Whatever you say in subject line make sure to deliver in body
. Button to a landing page on your website, specific to this campaign. Not just a generic page.
. For copy in email just think of how a conversation would go during an estimate, try write it like that.Think about what questions people ask.
.a small pic off to the right side wouldn't hurt

Personally for a cold email i would focus on big ticket items, so even a couple could make it profitable. Like i said above wouldnt just do email ever but if you just want to see how it works/learn, can understand that.

Ps I've run email campaigns to new prospects where I actually got a better open and click rate than current people...of course how I accumulated that list was the key

    Factor in Google Tabs.

Why do I say that? ....because even now My pre apt emails go into the "Promotions" tab of clients that have gmail accounts.

How do I know this?...I tested it.

What would qualify these people to do business with you? What profile/criteria are you looking for?

Anyone willing to pay my price.
It's not the highest in town or the lowest.
Hopefully I can do a good job making my case as why I'm the highest value.

If they will pay, they are qualified. Black or white, 50k or 1 mill income, don't care.

Thats what he is trying to find out!

Email is a cheap way to test before spending the big bucks.
    Smart move imo.

Why should I choose you as oppose to each and every other option available to me ---including doing nothing?

well this is a different question than your first. The first question is what qualifies THEM (the prospect) to be MY customer. And the answer to that is anyone willing to pay my price. (obviously targeting your demographics when spending money on advertising raises the roi)

Now your asking what makes me the right choice for them.. right?
Well thats what my marketing is for. It has to convey a reason that solves their needs and concerns.
I revolve different reasons based on the piece. Pet odor specialist one day, allergy specialist the next.

This may be a good thread in itself and id like your input.

You know your talents better than We and can convey it to prospects better.

My advice is to be a lil radical.

    It works
